FANTASTIC VINTAGE MCINTOSH AMP MODEL MC60 MONO BLOCK TUBE AMPLIFIER – WORKS!! This is a super nice vintage McIntosh MC-60 Mono block tube Amp in original condition. I believe the resistors and capacitors are all original. Currently no service is needed as far as I can tell on this Amp. She is in good working condition. But remember this is a vintage item so keep an open mind to possible service and/or repairs. Down the road you might consider a restoration and tube upgrade. The paint on the transformers looks original, however one spot was touched up with black paint. Overall they look good showing just minor scuffs and scratches. Stickers and plaques look great. The chrome looks great as well with the normal minor pitting and surface rust you would expect to find on a vintage McIntosh Amp. The black lettering is in fantastic overall shape showing only minor wear and tear. The mixed tube line-up is… 1x 6550A & 1x 6550 marked USA. 2x 5U4G”B” (Not A) one is a Sylvania the other is marked USA. The center guide post pins are broken off on the 6550′s. This is a common occurrence and not a big deal. The tubes are marked with a black Sharpie dot. The overall Cosmetic condition is excellent showing only minor scratches/blemishes and normal wear consistent with age and use. Please look closely at the pictures as they are part of the description. Due to weight this is a NO return item. This Serial number on this little beauty is 2F471. The tubes pictured and listed are included. The attached A/C power cord is in great condition. This amps works as it should and was tested under basic conditions. There was no noise or hum at the time of testing. She will be extremely well packed. This is truly a very nice vintage Mcintosh tube Amp. Don’t miss this one!! Pair of Vintage Marantz 5 Mono Block Monoblock Tube Amplifier Amp Lot. These came from an audiophile estate collection. We have hooked them up to a preamp and ran some testing on them and they seem to be working just fine. There is some scratches, scuff marks, stains, chips, dings. Also previous owner etched #s on to the back of the units. There is no cages. I’m happy to be listing a Beautiful Pair of Vintage Mcintosh MC60, 60 Watt Mono Block Tube Power Amplifiers that come from a relative who was an avid audiophile. The amplifiers have been in their home for the last 50 years or so. Very nice original condition and still sound amazing! That beautiful Vintage Mcintosh tube sound- warm, bold and clear. Classics among Vintage Hi-Fi Collectors. Units underwent a thorough testing by a highly experienced tech in the NYC area very familiar with Vintage Audiophile Tube Equipment. Voltage was brought up very slowly using a Variac to protect the capacitors. As you can see from the interior photos, both units are very clean, unmolested and contain the original components,’Bumble Bee’, Sprague Black Beauty capacitors etc. Units are in excellent cosmetic and working condition. Serial no’s: 5F405, 5F541. As you can see from the photos, units are very clean. The controls are smooth and noise free; all the terminals are sound. Original screening letters are nearly perfect on both units. McIntosh Logo is perfect on both units. Chrome is very clean with only some minor imperfections. McIntosh side label perfect on both units. A few scratches/chips on transformers and on one side panel – see closeup photos. The blotches/smudges visible on capacitor cans in photos are removable with a bit of cleaning solution. Amps have been cleaned up for photos. A little polish will really make them glow! Light scratches/blemishes on one transformer and a bit on one side panel ; chrome shows slight pitting near transformer and a bit near rectifier tube section. Bottom panel has scratches – see closeup photos. A couple of small scratches on one transformer. Chrome has only a few very small blemishes. Tech replaced part M1 Selenium Rectifier, R35 Resistor on left unit ser. New, Matched/Burned In Quad of Genalex Gold Lion KT88/6550 Tubes. Remaining Tubes are Vintage ca. 60s and 70s – All test Good, most test Strong. RCA Black Plate 5U4 GB (GA) (4). RCA 12Ax7 (3) – 2 date codes show CG, FZ. RCA + GE 12BH7A. Over all, this Pair of Mcintosh MC60 Amplifiers are in very nice original condition, look good together and still sound amazing! As these are vintage power amps, over 50 years old, after your initial testing, I cannot make any other claims as to how long they may continue to function. Once you decide to put units into long term use, a qualified technician should replace any parts that would warrant replacement. And your satisfaction is my top priority.
