On sale is a vintage 1972 Fender Silverface all tube Twin reverb. Except for the electrolytic capacitors which were replaced with top quality Sprague capacitors, all other amp components are, to my Amp knowledge, original. The amp is in very good working condition. Speakers are original for the amp. Original foot switch is included in the sale. Casters are original Fender issued. Box frame , tolex, grill cloth, and other hardware are in good condition and original. Reverb on this is lush and nice. Will post more pictures as soon as possible. Up for sale, a 1973 Fender Twin Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order with a 100% original circuit. Loaded with a pair of unusual and early Eminence/Fender ceramic 12 drivers and a near complete set of original RCA tubes, this amp lives up to its reputation for having the most formidable, glassy, and balanced clean tones a tube amp can provide. Perfect not only for guitar, the Twin is an excellent choice for any scenario where headroom is a must, performing equally well with a pedal steel or your favorite Rhodes piano. The circuit is untouched, right down to the original power supply caps, and all of the original Schumacher transformers date between the 26th and 29th weeks of 1973. All of the original CTS pots are present as well, dating to’73. The chassis has a clean faceplate and full compliment of original knobs. The tube compliment includes three RCA 6L6s in the power section with one substituted Realistic-branded valve that does the part to round out the quad, while the preamp is outfitted with the full set of original matched RCA valves. Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is intact, and the pair of Eminence-manufactured 12 speakers have clean brown/gold Fender labels on the ceramic magnets, with clean black frames and viable cones. These speakers are a prototypical pair for Eminence, aping the look of the earlier Jensens seen in Fender’s Blackface-era Twins, yet undoubtedly original, given the matching 1973 date stamps on the edges of the frames. The smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth is quite clean, as is all of the original hardware, save for an MIA set of tilt-back legs. 1967 Fender Twin Reverb Blackface Combo Amplifier. This amp sounds outstanding and is the epitome of Blackface tones. It is all-original except for upgraded vintage 1972 CTS 12E18L speakers, a 3-prong power cord, replaced power supply filter caps, and new properly biased JJ power tubes. Everything else is original. Most parts actually date to 1966, while the power transformer dates to 1967. This was likely made very early 1967. There is zero hum. The reverb is lush and the vibrato works great. There is no static when adjusting any of the controls. This amp sounds excellent at both low and high volumes. Overall this vintage amp is in good working condition with typical cosmetic wear. The grill cloth has a few tiny tears and the tolex has some typical scuffs throughout, but nothing major. The faceplate is good and all lettering is visible, just some standard marks throughout. The handle works perfectly. A previous owner etched some letters on the back corner of the chassis but is barely visible. Most of the tube chart has peeled off. The original tilt back legs work perfectly. Includes the original 2-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch in good working condition. The footswitch has typical marks from usage. Also includes the Fender slipcover in very good condition. Does not include any other accessories. The Twin was Fender’s original two 12-inch speaker tube amp launched in 1952. The original Twin was supplanted by the Twin Reverb in 1963 which has since earned a place as one of Fender’s most iconic amps. Starting in the late’60s, the Twin Reverb switched from Blackface to a Silverface style cabinet. The Silverface editions are less desirable. Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Twin Reverb in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A freshly serviced and very original example, this Twin’s condition is all the more uncommon given its size. While Fender’s smaller combos of the era can occasionally be found in pristine shape, it’s significantly rarer to find Fender’s gig-worthy large combos (which generally saw much rougher usage) as well-kept as this example. This Twin delivers warm, articulate cleans with ample bass response, a wide-ranging and responsive EQ, and present, sparkling Fender top end. When it comes to the quintessential Blackface Fender amp for clarity, headroom, and the balanced, authoritative response of a four 6L6 driven tube amp, it’s hard to beat the Twin. The tube-driven Reverb effect has incredibly depth and splash, and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with a wide range of speeds. It’s as iconic a design as Leo Fender ever created, also very well-suited to amplifying pedal steel or electric piano in the vein of a Wurlitzer or Fender Rhodes. The circuit is extremely clean and straight, with all of the original blue molded Ajax capacitors in the preamp, a key part of the sweet, musical character of the Blackface-era preamps. The preamp features just a few new electrolytic caps, and even the original Mallory main filter caps are intact and still viable. The power tubes are a quad of properly biased Sovtek 5881WTX (6L6), and the preamp tubes are all matched modern Sovtek-branded valves as well. All of the original Schumacher-made transformers are intact, all dating to mid-1967, and the original CTS pots have visible date codes from the 51st week of’66. The speakers are a matched pair of vintage Oxford 12T6s, both featuring original cones and dating a hair earlier than the amp, with date codes on the frames from the 49th week of’65. These speakers easily handle the power of the Twin, and the speaker harness is original too. The tube chart is intact, stamped with a bold “QH” date code which translates to October of 1967. The original black tolex is exceptionally clean, with sparingly little wear on the edges of the enclosure. The silver sparkle grillcloth shows only modest darkening over the decades, with one small hole that has been cleanly patched from the backside with matching cloth. The faceplate is notably well-kept, retaining its full compliment of original witch hat knobs, and the original backplate is intact too, with the SSN of a previous owner etched into the plate. All of the original hardware is present, including the chrome tilt back legs, nickel corners, sphinx glides, handle, and raised Fender logo on the amp’s face. VINTAGE 1975 FENDER SUPER TWIN GUITAR AMP, RCA OUTPUT TUBES. Condition is “Used”, working, as is. Amp Tolex has nicks and scuffs, grill has a couple of small holes, please check out the pix. Output tubes boxed separately. Output tubes were tested (96%) on our tester – calibrated to a new JJ. All preamp tubes are new JJ’s. All pots cleaned and lubed. 1969 Fender Twin Reverb Guitar Amp vintage tube amp. NOT REISSUE, CHASSIS ONLY.. I got this amp because it looks trashed and perfect for hot rod project. But after plugging it in and looking it over it’s almost all original. It really just needs a real faceplate and knobs. Or a Blackface faceplate would work as there’s no master volume. Lots of tone/EQ change when you turn the knobs. I used a short Accutronics 3 spring tank to test and Reverb sounds deep and lush. Tremolo works too and is really deep. There are some spits and crackles when turning knobs but goes away after it warms up. Who knows how long it’s been since it was fired up. All in all a really cool vintage 1969 Fender Twin Reverb in working, but cosmetically challenged condition.
