Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Vibrolux in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch. Loaded with a full vintage tube set, this narrow panel tweed-era Vibrolux amp has the coveted 5F11 circuit, offering a range of dynamic tones to match its good looks. The sound is shimmering and harmonically rich, delivering round cleans and overdriven grit and bite higher on the Volume dial, cascading into ripping tube saturation at its highest settings. The tremolo is bias-based and has a strong pulse, with a smooth waveform and plenty of intensity and present percussive chop. The circuit features the original Triad power transformer and Schumacher output transformer (dating to the 46th week of’60). The preamp has a bevy of original yellow Astron capacitors, as well as two stock CTS pots dating to 1959 and’60 (two replacement pots are from the 1980s). The power supply has been professionally recapped, along with the smaller electrolytic caps in the preamp. A modern three-prong power cable has been installed. The tube set includes all vintage valves, with a Sylvania-branded rectifier and Telefunkens in the preamp. The tube chart is intact, noting the 5F11 circuit, stamped “KA, ” which dates to January of’61. The amp is loaded with the original Jensen P10R 10 speaker which has a dark blue/green frame, ribbed cone, stock bell cover and stamp on the edge of the frame from the 48th week of’59. The amp presents extremely well, and the original lacquered tweed is only modestly ambered, paired with the original oxblood/gold stripe grillcloth. The face of the amp retains its metal Vibrolux badge, and the leather handle is a vintage-style replacement. The chassis is positively gleaming, with bright chrome plating, all of the original white silkscreen text intact, and stock chicken head knobs. The original black molded footswitch for engaging the vibrato is included.

The tube complement includes a pair of Phillips-branded 6L6 power tubes, an RCA 5U4 rectifier, and nearly all of the original Phillips-branded tubes in the preamp. The Oxford 10L5 ceramic magnet 10 speakers are the original matched pair with black frames and blue Fender foil stickers on the ceramic magnets. Vintage mid 1970s Fender Vibrolux Reverb 1×12 tube guitar amp that has been fully serviced and sounds incredible. This amp was likely modified early on to the 1×12 configuration. There is a hole in the side of the amp that’s been covered with a wire grill and has no legs or back plates. This is not a museum piece and has had its share of work done over the years but it sounds phenomenal and is sure to be reliable for years to come. Definitely a one of a kind amplifier that not many will be able to match the tone of. I regret having to sell this but times are tough.

The tube chart is mostly intact, with a “PJ” date stamp which translates to October of 1966. The original smooth black tolex is intact, and the baffle is a modern solid pine replacement (a notable upgrade from the original MDF material), complete with lightly aged silver sparkle grillcloth. The original hardware includes the full complement of witch hat knobs, the raised Fender logo, handle caps, chassis straps, corners, and sphinx glides (feet).

Vintage Fender Tweed Narrow Panel 1956 Vibrolux Guitar Tube Amplifier Amp. Good vintage cosmetic condition with common signs of age and use. On/off switch is newer. Grounded power cord added (original included). All else appears original. Professionally inspected and in good working order. Transformer codes 50246 and 5396. Tubes appear to be original. Handle is very old but not certain it is factory.

I also listed a vintage Gibson Rhythm King and Magnatone amp.. From the private collection of Ultimate Spinach founding member and bass player Rich Nese. I will be listing some of Rich’s personal vintage music gear, memorabilia and autographed items. This amp is from the 1960′s. It was powered on a few years back but it has mostly been in storage most of it’s life so I would obviously recommend it receiving a complete and very thorough tune up before being used again.
