Clean, original and freshly serviced, this Vibrolux is stage and studio ready, loaded with a bevy of vintage tubes including a pair of Phillips-branded 6L6 power tubes. With good reason, the Vibrolux is one of the most desirable Fender models for its ideal size and power, well-suited to both stage and studio applications. The amp delivers sparkling cut and muscle, and a surprising amount of headroom, cascading into lightly compressed tube overdrive when pushing towards 10 on the Volume dial. Offering 35 tube watts through the original Oxford 10L5 ceramic magnet 10 speaker pair, the Vibrolux is the perfect platform for getting the most out of a variety of guitars and stompboxes. Clean and sweet up til about 5 on the volume knob (with a perceived volume that’s loud enough to keep up with an aggressive drummer), the Vibrolux has clear note attack and sweet tube rectifier sag, not to mention lush tube-driven Reverb and percussive Tremolo. All of the transformers are manufactured by Fender’s primary transformer supplier in this era, Schumacher, with source date codes from 1971. The preamp is 100% original save for two capacitors in the bias section, all of the original CTS pots are intact, and the chassis stamp reads Sept 16th, 1971. The power supply has also been professionally recapped with high quality F&Ts, and a three-prong power cable has been installed. Given a full checkup by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, all pots, switches, jacks and tube sockets have been thoroughly cleaned. The tube complement includes a pair of Phillips-branded 6L6 power tubes, an RCA 5U4 rectifier, and nearly all of the original Phillips-branded tubes in the preamp. The Oxford 10L5 ceramic magnet 10 speakers are the original matched pair with black frames and blue Fender foil stickers on the ceramic magnets. The stickers on the edges of the frames are dated to the 21st week of’71. The tube chart is intact inside the cabinet as well. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe are intact, with only very light wear on the enclosure edges. Original hardware includes the handle caps, chassis straps, corners, sphinx glides (feet) and raised logo. The faceplate is particularly well-kept with a full complement of witch hat knobs. The original two-button footswitch is included.

The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with orange stripe are intact and extremely clean, with uniform darkening of the cloth. The hardware shows light surface patina on the original handle caps, chassis straps, corners, and sphinx glides (feet). The faceplate is also particularly well-kept with a full complement of witch hat knobs. The original two-button footswitch is included.

Vintage mid 1970s Fender Vibrolux Reverb 1×12 tube guitar amp that has been fully serviced and sounds incredible. This amp was likely modified early on to the 1×12 configuration. There is a hole in the side of the amp that’s been covered with a wire grill and has no legs or back plates. This is not a museum piece and has had its share of work done over the years but it sounds phenomenal and is sure to be reliable for years to come. Definitely a one of a kind amplifier that not many will be able to match the tone of. I regret having to sell this but times are tough.

The tube chart is mostly intact, with a “PJ” date stamp which translates to October of 1966. The original smooth black tolex is intact, and the baffle is a modern solid pine replacement (a notable upgrade from the original MDF material), complete with lightly aged silver sparkle grillcloth. The original hardware includes the full complement of witch hat knobs, the raised Fender logo, handle caps, chassis straps, corners, and sphinx glides (feet).

Vintage Fender Tweed Narrow Panel 1956 Vibrolux Guitar Tube Amplifier Amp. Good vintage cosmetic condition with common signs of age and use. On/off switch is newer. Grounded power cord added (original included). All else appears original. Professionally inspected and in good working order. Transformer codes 50246 and 5396. Tubes appear to be original. Handle is very old but not certain it is factory.

I also listed a vintage Gibson Rhythm King and Magnatone amp.. From the private collection of Ultimate Spinach founding member and bass player Rich Nese. I will be listing some of Rich’s personal vintage music gear, memorabilia and autographed items. This amp is from the 1960′s. It was powered on a few years back but it has mostly been in storage most of it’s life so I would obviously recommend it receiving a complete and very thorough tune up before being used again. The Jensen 10 speakers are a matched pair of vintage drivers with clean black frames and foil stickers on the ceramic magnets, factory spec for this model yet dating to’66. These speakers are the perfect pairing for the Vibrolux circuit, offering Jense’s hi-fi clarity and articulation. The tube chart is intact, with a faded “OE” date stamp which translates to May of 1966. The pair of brand new Tung Sol 5881 (6L6) power tubes are optimally biased, with a vintage RCA 5AR4 rectifier and an array of modern and vintage preamp tubes from the likes of Amperex and General Electric. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact, with sparingly little tolex wear and uniform aging of the grillcloth.
