Up for sale, a 1980 Fender Deluxe Reverb in collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch. One of the very last Silverface Fenders, this amp has the push/pull Volume Boost feature and a high wattage ceramic magnet CTS speaker, both of which weren’t available on earlier examples. Designed for maximal headroom given its form factor, this Deluxe excels at delivering sparkling, detailed cleans with ample bass response and plenty of treble kick. The amp pushes into overdrive past 5 on the Volume dial, with additional gain on tap via the Boost feature. The Reverb has a splashy, chiming character, and the Tremolo has a nice chop and wide range of speeds. The circuit is 100% original save for two capacitors in the power supply, and the preamp retains its full complement of molded blue capacitors. The Schumacher-made transformers all date to 1980, and the CTS pots have visible date codes spanning mid-1979 to mid-1980. The tubes include the full set of original Fender-branded preamp tubes as well as the 5U4 rectifier, while the power tubes are a fresh pair of Groove Tubes/Sovtek 6V6s. The original CTS 12 speaker has a clean black frame, blue foil Fender label on the ceramic magnet, and inked date stamp translating to the 40th week of’80. The tube chart is also intact on the inside of the cabinet. Cosmetically, this amp is extremely clean, with sparingly little wear on the original smooth black tolex or silver sparkle grillcloth with pale blue stripe. The turquoise text on the faceplate is pristine, and the full set of original witch hat knobs are present. All of the stock hardware is intact, including the handle caps, chassis straps, raised Fender logo with tail, and sphinx glides (feet). The original two-button footswitch is included.

Up for sale, a 1973 Fender Deluxe Reverb in collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original slip cover, two-button footswitch and a full vintage tube set. This amp excels at delivering sparkling, detailed cleans with great headroom, and the lush reverb accentuates the chiming, smooth treble response. Both channels sound distinct and strong, and turning things up past 5 on the Volume dial introduces glassy overdriven textures and a touch of compression. Both Reverb and Tremolo are accessible via the included footswitch, and the Tremolo has a nice chop and wide range of speeds. The circuit is 100% original save for two small silver caps on the back of the chassis, presumably for a reversed effects loop mod. Otherwise untouched, the circuit retains its stock Schumacher-made transformers which have a particularly wide date spread. The choke dates to the 50th week of 1970, the power transformer to the 9th week of’72, and the output transformer and reverb transformer to the early weeks of’73. The preamp retains all of the original blue molded signal caps, and the power supply even retains all of the stock (and still viable) filter caps. The CTS pots have visible date codes from the 9th week of’73, and the chassis stamp reads May 3rd, 1973. The tube complement is original to the amp, with all RCA-branded valves save for a single GE 12AX7. The original Oxford 12L6 12 speaker has a clean black frame, blue foil Fender label on the ceramic magnet, and dated sticker from the 10th week of’71. The tube chart is also intact on the inside of the cabinet. Cosmetically, this amp is extremely clean, with sparingly little wear on the original smooth black tolex or silver sparkle grillcloth with pale blue stripe, which shows only modest darkening over the decades. The faceplate retains its turquoise text and full set of witch hat knobs. All of the stock hardware is present, including the handle caps, chassis straps, raised Fender logo with tail, and sphinx glides (feet). The original black vinyl slip cover with silkscreened “Deluxe Reverb” text is included, along with the original two-button footswitch.

1975 Music Man HD-130. Electric Guitar Amplifier Head. It had been used quite a bit by a previous owner who painted some hardware and Tolex black, red on the handle ends, and blue on the logo and badges. The amp was still in good shape and had the original giant rubber sliders and all 8 corners so I bought it and added it right to my collection in the early 1990′s. There is a modification of two holes drilled into back of the chassis in-between the back plates; we cannot figure out what they were for. (Please see photos) This amp comes with it’s original cover and reverb tank. Recently (Nov 2024) I took it to my current amp tech and he replaced the filter caps, added 4 new 1/2 longer chassis mounting bolts, lubricated the pots and switches, powered it for an hour and checked operation. He says it’s now in great shape and is very loud. This is a 130 watt amp. Serial # B 000472. Cabinet Yellow Marker Stamp. (13th week of 1975). (38th week of 1973). (14th week of 1975). It might serve the buyers purpose to bring up the power slowly with a variac since these used amp heads are over 50 years old and have not been used for a few decades. Our amp tech has only replaced the needed parts -(filter caps & power cords as specified) to just get them turned on and running for an hour. Please see a skilled amp tech before extended use. The operation of the amps requires that they be regularly serviced for optimal performance. Please remember these are vintage pieces, we cannot guarantee that they will not need service or more parts in their future; only some obvious parts were changed to get it working. Most of the parts are still the original old parts remaining which will be stated in our listings. Elk Viking 100 Vintage Tube Guitar Amp Head with Reverb & Tremolo, EL34, Japan

Up for sale, a 1970′s Elk Viking 100 vintage tube amp head in near mint condition and in perfect working order. Produced by Miyuki in Japan and freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, this stunningly clean all-tube head features a quad of matched EL34 power tubes. Offering a two-channel, four-input design with Reverb and Tremolo dedicated to the first channel, the Viking 100 largely mirrors the feature set of Fender’s Silverface era amplifiers, yet the sonic properties of the Viking 100 are distinct in every dimension. The Viking 100 is a remarkably hi-fi sounding amp, with a clarity and muscle more akin to Hiwatt. The onboard effects include a very splashy and deep Reverb, and the effect is so lush that it borders on self-oscillation, with literal waves of echo as the signal decays. While the Reverb is functional regardless of the footswitch (included), the Tremolo effect requires the footswitch be plugged-in to activate, just like a vintage Fender. The effect has a smooth pulse with just enough percussive chop to be present, offering a wide range of available speeds. The circuit retains the original transformers, with fresh signal and bypass caps as needed for optimal functionality. The back panel of the amp includes a 100/117V voltage switch, along with dual speaker outputs (the amp wants to see a 4ohm load). The tube complement includes a fresh, properly biased quad of Electro Harmonix EL34 power tubes, as well as all of the original valves in the preamp. Cosmetically, this Elk Viking 100 is stunningly clean, with near mint textured black tolex, clean hardware, a practically perfect machined aluminum faceplate, and all of the original skirted aluminum knobs. A modern Fender two-button footswitch is included.

Dual Showman Reverb TFL 5000 D. Electric Guitar Amplifier Head. Sacramento’s own madman boutique amp builder Mike McCormack of Mack Electronics, had to start somewhere with his creations and one place he started was with some of my amplifiers. What he intended to do was build a Fender equivalent Sunn Model T with four 6550′s power tubes in a Fender Showman chassis. This amplifier he created he nicknamed “The Beast” because it’s so loud and powerful. What he was able to do in this project was retain the original transformers without having to upgrade them. His circuitry is HEAVILY modified with extra heavy filter caps and interior switching. He added an effects loop with send and return jacks. He eliminated the reverb circuit but retained the vibrato. We have 3 jacks that are covering the serial number and we are not sure what they are connected to. He added a blue power light and a lot of labels. The original baffle board was made of particle board and was very heavy so Mojo Musical Supply built for me a more lightweight custom grille which afforded better ventilation. Around 1970 they stopped using slide brackets to mount amplifier heads to the speaker cabinets. Fender then just used these larger speaker cabinet mounting bolts as seen here. The filter cap pan does not fit over the filter caps anymore but is also not necessary because the filtration is more than adequate and these Sprague caps that he used won’t leak like the Mallory caps that Fender used back in the day. Recently (Jan 2025) I took this to my current amp tech and he says this amp is “over the top”, very loud, powerful and is very well designed and put together. He went over it, powered for an hour, played it and lubricated the pots. (37th week of 1970). (34th week of 1970).
